FY 2017
HUD released FY 2017 CoC Program Awards Jan. 12, 2018.
Tucson/Pima County gained $171,228 plus two new project, and lost two projects.
Overall, our community gained $171,228 in funding. We were awarded two new bonus projects and our proposed expansion from reallocation. These projects are rapid rehousing for homeless youth (Secure Futures) and a transitional housing-rapid rehousing program for persons with chronic medical issues (Medical Respite TH-RRH).
Unfortunately, we also lost two permanent housing programs. One was CODAC’s Permanent Housing and the other is SAAF’s Positive Housing Opportunity. Our community has a shortage of permanent housing and for the FY18-19 is losing $322,874 in permanent housing. We will work together to make sure members in these programs transition into other housing programs so they don’t end up homeless. I want to thank CODAC and SAAF for providing these much needed programs in our community.
