TPCH will host True Colors United for this 3-hour adultism training as part of the Tucson/Pima Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program. Maximize your learning on adultism to help create authentic youth-adult partnerships from nationally recognized experts, True Colors United.
What is Adultism?
Adultism is defined as prejudice toward and discrimination against children and younger adults based on their age. Conscious and subconscious adultism influences the way we provide services, interpret youth input, and relate to young leaders.
In this training, participants will:
- Learn to recognize adultism in our youth homelessness response system and the services their agencies provide
- Understand the intersections between adultism, racism and anti-LGBTQ prejudice
- Develop strategies to address adultism and other isms in the local homeless response system and participants’ work
