TPCH and Interfaith Community Services invite TPCH members to a free 8-hour Mental Health First Aid Training. This 8-hour training will teach outreach workers, case managers, and other staff members how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illness and substance use disorders. Participants will gain the skills they need to reach out and provide initial support to someone who may be developing a mental health or substance use problem and help connect them to the appropriate care. Participants who complete the full day will receive Mental Health First Aider certification.

This training covers:
-Common signs and symptoms of mental illness
-Common signs and symptoms of substance abuse
-How to interact with a person in crisis
-How to connect the person with help
– NEW: How to administer naloxone in the event of an opiod overdose
Participants will also learn how to apply the ALGEE action plan:
– Assess for risk of suicide or harm
– Listen non-judgmentally
– Give reassurance and information
– Encourage appropriate professional help
– Encourage self-help and other support strategies

Increase Understanding and Check Your Compliance with the Fair Housing Act and HUD Equal Access Rule
Join TPCH and the Southwest Fair Housing Council for a free 90-minute online training for housing and homeless service providers. This training will include an overview of Fair Housing requirements and nondiscrimination, affirmative outreach, and HUD’s Equal Access Rule as they apply to shelter and supportive housing programs. With proposed changes to HUD’s Equal Access Rule and HUD-funded program expectations, it is especially important that housing providers understand and are in compliance with current requirements.
This session is perfect for housing program managers, administrative staff, and direct service staff including outreach workers and housing navigators, resource specialists, case managers, shelter workers, property/leasing managers, and others.

The Tucson Pima Collaboration to End Homelessness (TPCH) is seeking one or more new recipient(s) for three CoC-funded Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) projects. This Request for Qualifications process is the means by potential recipient(s) will be identified. Responses will be reviewed by a selection panel which will make recommendations to the TPCH Board for approval. TPCH’s selection is subject to HUD approval.

2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance Training with Thompson Grants – September 10-11, 2019 |

TPCH is pleased to announce that we will be bringing Thompson Grants to Tucson for a 2-day intensive on 2 CFR 200 Uniform Guidance requirements and best practices September 10-11, 2019. This training is ideal for senior management including finance and procurement professionals, grant and contract managers, and senior program staff responsible for oversight of federal grant awards and subawards. This training is recognized by the US Office of Management and Budget (OMB) as an eligible admin cost under many Federal grant programs.
The training will be held at the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona’s Community Campus and facilitated by Thompson Grants expert, Cyndi MacKenzie.
